The Perspectives of Adolescents with Epilepsy: Development of a Patient-driven Intervention to Impact Health Literacy in Uganda

Aim 3: To understand key methods that the target groups use to learn, and to gather specific ideas that AWE have about effective ways to communicate information about epilepsy. That is: 3A) Identify the commonly used media and/or other epilepsy literacy delivery channels; 3B) Determine the effective ways to deliver information about epilepsy; 3C) Determine the level of accessibility to smartphones or computers, and the feasibility of using an APP or Computer Program to track seizures, and medication usage, and to deliver information about epilepsy.,Aim 2: To determine specific social groupings (e.g., school, family, community) that AWE believe most need education to impact epilepsy literacy. That is: 2A) Identify the patient’s perceived priority areas for epilepsy literacy; and 2B) Determine the patient-prioritized target social groupings for epilepsy health literacy.,Aim 1: To understand the experiences of adolescents with epilepsy (AWE) in relation to community stigma and discrimination and its impact. That is; 1A) Determine the patient history of epilepsy: the onset of seizures, and perceptions; 1B) Determine the immediate and long-term reactions/responses to epilepsy among patients, families, and community members; and 1C) Determine the nature and extent of familial, school, and community-based beliefs and misconceptions about epilepsy,The main objective of this study is to explore the relationship between epilepsy and stigma through the experiences of adolescents, who represent a pertinent target audience and are often agents of change in their communities.,

Main Objective
1. To demonstrate superiority of giredestrant over the control treatment.
Specific Objectives
1. To evaluate the efficacy of giredestrant compared with Therapy of Physician's Choice
2. To evaluate the safety of giredestrant compared with Therapy of Physician's Choice
3. To characterize giredestrant Pharmacokinetics
4. To evaluate health status utility scores of participants treated with giredestrant compared with Therapy of Physician's Choice
5. To evaluate the tolerability of giredestrant compared with Therapy of Physician's Choice
6. To identify and/or evaluate biomarkers that are predictive of response to giredestrant (i.e., predictive biomarkers), are early surrogates of efficacy, are associated with progression to a more severe disease state (i.e., prognostic biomarkers), are associated with acquired resistance to giredestrant, are associated with susceptibility to developing adverse events or can lead to improved adverse event monitoring or investigation (i.e., safety biomarkers), can provide evidence of giredestrant activity (i.e., pharmacodynamic biomarkers), or can increase the knowledge and understanding of disease biology and drug safety
