Neurodevelopmental outcomes of early-life infections among Ugandan children aged 12 and 24 months: Use of the Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development-third edition (BSID-III).
REFNo: HS2973ES

General objective: To determine neurodevelopmental outcomes and their predictors among Ugandan children aged 12 and 24 months using a culturally adapted version of the Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler development, third edition. Specific objectives 1.To conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis on the predictors of trajectories of child neurodevelopment in the first 2 years of life in LMIC. 2.To culturally adapt the Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler development, third edition for use in Uganda and evaluate its reliability and validity in children aged 12 and 24 months. 3. To asses age related changes in BSID-III performance scores between 12 and 24 months. 4. To examine the association between early life infections and socio-economic factors with neurodevelopmental outcomes in Ugandan children at 12 and 24 months of age.
