Improving Breast Cancer Early Diagnosis in Uganda through Training Village Health Teams (VHTs)

8. To assess the feasibility and acceptability and feasibility of the Breast Health Card from the point of view of healthcare professionals and patients,7. To design a Breast Health Card to track patients through the health care system. ,6. To evaluate program cost and compare cost between the usual and train-the-trainer models for VHTs,5. To evaluate perceived program feasibility and acceptability among VHTs, UWOCASO volunteers, and patients.,4. To evaluate changes in Breast Health Knowledge and Self-Efficacy among VHTs trained via the usual v train-the-trainer model, as well as among UWOCASO volunteers,3. To compare the time interval from presentation to VHT to diagnostic resolution for patients with breast symptoms who present to VHTs trained via the usual model v train-the-trainer model, including proportion of patients where the interval to imaging or biopsy is < 3 months.,2. To train 50 Village Health Team (VHT) members — including 25 via the train-the-trainer model – on recognizing signs and symptoms of breast disease, and on referral pathways to clinics with the capacity to evaluate, diagnose, and treat breast pathologies including breast cancer.,1. To train 20 UWOCASO volunteers in the breast health referral system and how to support VHT and patients in referring patients with signs/symptoms of breast disease to the UCI Breast Symptom Clinic. ,
