Land Usage, Land Markets and Economic Development: Evidence from Uganda

This research program that will shed light on the relationship among land markets, land usage, and economic development in Uganda. The research is based on a collaboration with the Ministry of Lands, Housing & Urban Development and analysis of land registry records of the National Land Information System (NLIC). The researchers will match these data with other data sources, including remote sensing images, to create a unique parcel level longitudinal database on ownership, market transactions, and land usage.
