General objective/ Purpose of the study
To formulate a herbal toothpaste/ mouth wash and undertake preclinical studies on its use in management of oral diseases
Specific objectives
1. To formulate herbal toothpaste/ mouth wash from extracts of selected plants for management of oral diseases.
2. To evaluate the organoleptic and physical properties of the formulated herbal toothpaste / mouth wash as per specified standards.
3. To evaluate the antimicrobial activity of the formulated herbal remedy against selected oral pathogens, Streptococcus mutans and Staphylococcus aureus.
4. To produce one batch of the fully tested herbal remedy for subsequent field testing.
