Antirabies compounds in Selected Medicinal Plants used in the Treatment of Rabies in Uganda

Mian objective: To explore the medicinal plants used in the treatment of rabies for bioactive potential and phytochemical compounds as possible leads to antirabies agents in Uganda.
Specific objectives:
1. To carry out an ethnobotatical survey on plant species used to treat rabies in Uganda.
2. To determine the cytotoxicity of the crude extracts of the selected plants used to treat rabies.
3. To determine the antirabies potency of the crude extracts of selected plants against rabies virus.
4. To elucidate the structure of the antirabies compound(s) isolated from the most bioactive portion(s).
