Understanding School Health Service Provision in Uganda

To generate evidence-based recommendations for strengthening the school health service activities, vaccination screening and HPV vaccination delivery in Uganda,To identify facilitators and barriers to HPV vaccination uptake in school-based settings amongst school administrators/teachers, healthcare workers and parents/caregivers, including key behavioral, system and social drivers and barriers.,To identify rationale for, facilitators and barriers to school-based vaccination checks and implementation of catch-up vaccination following these checks,To describe the implementation of school-based vaccination checks among a sample of primary and secondary schools in Uganda.,To generate evidence on facilitators and barriers to planning, implementation and monitoring of school health service activities.,To identify and describe best practices for cross-sectoral collaboration,To document roles of key stakeholders in school-based preventative health activities, including Community Service Organizations ,To understand the current delivery of recommended preventative school health service activities in Uganda, including provision of vaccination, health screening and health education,To understand the extent of implementation, facilitators and barriers to the current school health services in Uganda in order to generate evidence-based recommendations to inform implementation of priority activities, especially school-based vaccination checks and HPV vaccination delivery. ,
