1. To characterize the ex vivo drug susceptibility of P. falciparum isolates collected from multiple sites in Uganda.
Secondary objectives
1. To characterize mutations that mediate drug resistance in P. falciparum isolates collected from multiple sites in Uganda
2. To characterize mutations that mediate drug resistance in banked P. falciparum previously collected from multiple sites in Uganda.
3. To culture, adapt and store P. falciparum isolates to enable studies of mechanisms of antimalarial drug resistance.
4. To measure drug levels in serum or plasma to help to understand treatment responses.
