Evaluating the implementation and clinical outcomes of a mobile health tool to guide management of acute respiratory illnesses in young children

1.To evaluate outcomes of implementation following deployment of the refined Acute Lower Respiratory Illness Treatment Evaluation (ALRITE) mHealth decision support tool in routine clinical practice in two primary care health facilities in Uganda.
2.To further refine the ALRITE user interface, algorithm, and implementation strategy using feedback from objective 1 in order to create a fully functional mHealth application ready for use in primary care facilities in Uganda.
3.To explore clinical and care delivery outcomes, in children aged 1-59 months, before and after ALRITE deployment.

The overall objective of the proposed project is to develop a novel methodology quantifying GHGs Inventory for a particular area by optimizing application of remote sensing, machine learning and artificial intelligence to quantify ranging animals as sources, above ground biomass and ground as sinks and incorporates animal management system.

HEALTHYNSECT - Insect farming for health and livelihoods

The overall aim of HEALTHYNSECT is to assist policy development for accelerating rural insect farming and consumption of insects and insect-based products in Africa for sustainable development and improved nutrition, health, and livelihoods.
The specific objectives of the HEALTHYNSECT project are:
Objective 1
1. To develop an evidence-based framework describing impact pathways from incentivizing insect farming and consumption to intermediate and long-term development outcomes related to nutrition, health and livelihoods.
Objective 2
To conduct a multi-site factorial intervention study to identify and quantify the pathways for enhancing the adoption of insect farming and consumption of insects and insect-based products.
Objective 3
To assess the impacts of incentivizing insect consumption through provision of insect-based food supplements on household dietary diversity, and young children’s diet, health and nutritional status in rural households
Objective 4
To assess the impacts of incentivizing small-scale insect farming on household livelihoods and resilience including production and dietary diversity, food security perception, resource allocation, income generation, and household agricultural asset composition.
Objective 5
To support research capacity building and regional East-West research collaboration in Africa for strengthening research capacity on edible insects in sustainable food systems.
