RIGHTS. The bargaining power of sending countries in influencing the rights of their low skilled migrant workers
REFNo: SS3001ES

1)To determine what actions Uganda take to support access to (human and labor) rights of their low-skilled migrant workers in high-income countries.
2)To explore the motivations of origin countries to take – or not take – specific actions.
3)To explore how the (inter)actions of origin and destination countries, interstate dialogues, the involvement of civil society actors in origin and destination countries, and international organizations shape the rights of low skilled migrant workers in high income countries.

Adaptive Network Communications Architecture for Transmission of Sensor Data in the Framework of Beehive Management.
REFNo: SIR382ES

Objective 1: Conduct Requirements Analysis and Design: Identify and analyze the requirements for an adaptive network communications architecture tailored for beehive monitoring units, focusing on the transmission of sensor data with specified communication modules (LoRa, Wi-Fi, and GSM) for various environmental test case scenarios. Document the requirements and design specifications within the first year, ensuring the design addresses the unique challenges of remote beekeeping environments and utilizing existing knowledge and technology to outline feasible network requirements and designs.,To design, develop, and evaluate a reliable adaptive network communications architecture that optimizes the transmission of sensor data for efficient and intelligent monitoring of beehive management, based on real-time environmental conditions, resource availability, and application-specific requirements over a three-year period., Objective 2: Develop and Integrate Machine Learning Optimization Algorithms: Develop and integrate machine learning algorithms that optimize the network\'s operation modes and data transmission prioritization based on real-time environmental conditions and network resource availability. Implement and test these algorithms in a controlled setting, leveraging existing machine learning frameworks and expertise. Enhance the adaptability and efficiency of the network to ensure it is suitable for energy-constrained and variable environments. Finalize the development and initial testing by the end of the second year., Objective 3: Evaluate Network Performance and Effectiveness: Conduct simulations, experimental analyses, and field demonstrations to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of the developed adaptive hybrid backhaul network (LoRa, Wi-Fi, and GSM) for different deployment scenarios in beehive management. Measure key performance indicators such as data throughput, latency, power consumption, and reliability across various scenarios. Use simulation tools and real-world testing environments to gather relevant data. Validate the network\'s performance to ensure it meets the requirements for efficient sensor data transmission in beehive monitoring. Complete all evaluations, analyses, and demonstrations by the end of the third year.,
