The role of infection and antibody data for improved understanding of recrudescent active trachoma in Nebbi district of Uganda

To investigate geographic, demographic, behavioral or WASH factors that are correlated with chlamydial infection, pgp3 and/or TF positivity that could inform more effective program interventions. ,To determine if the Ct infection and serology data suggest ongoing transmission of trachoma within the EU. ,To determine the prevalence of ocular Chlamydial infection in children 1-5 years and pgp3 serology among children aged 1 – 9 years in Nebbi East and Nebbi West EUs.,To investigate the relationship between clinical signs of trachoma (TF), C. trachomatis infection and pgp3 antibody responses in EUs previously with recrudescent active trachoma.,

Feasibility Study of the Determine™ Syphilis TP II Rapid Test.

1. Determine™ Syphilis TP II test result using a fingerstick capillary whole blood sample against the Abbott Architect i1000SR Syphilis CMIA result using a plasma sample.
2. Determine™ Syphilis TP II test result using a fingerstick capillary whole blood sample against the result of the currently-available Determine™ Syphilis TP test using a fingerstick capillary whole blood sample.
3. Determine™ Syphilis TP test result using a venous plasma sample against the Abbott Architect i1000SR Syphilis CMIA result using a plasma sample.
4. Determine™ Syphilis TP II test result using a plasma sample against the result of the currently-available Determine™ Syphilis TP test using a plasma sample.
The usability of the Determine™ Syphilis TP II test, when using fingerstick capillary whole blood samples and plasma samples, will also be evaluated.
