Evaluation of the performance of HIV rapid diagnostic tests on Oral Fluid and Urine for WHO prequalification assessment.

To describe and assess the operational characteristics and ease of use of HIV RDTs on urine or oral fluids and its suitability for use in countries with limited infrastructure (no/limited electricity, no/limited clean water, and inadequate means of biosafety disposal).,To assess inter-reader variability (for subjectively read assays),To assess analytical performance of HIV RDTs for the detection of antibodies to HIV in oral fluid and urine: ● Sensitivity on seroconversion panels compared to a benchmark assay ● Performance on mixed-titer panels ● Subtype detection ● Lot-to-lot variation ,To determine the sensitivity and specificity of HIV RDTs for the detection of antibodies to HIV in oral fluids and urine as compared to a reference algorithm (two EIAs followed by a line immunoassay) in blood- derived specimen and compare them to predefined acceptance criteria for prequalification,The overall objective is to evaluate and compare the accuracy of HIV rapid tests for the detection of HIV antibodies in oral fluids and urine against established performance criteria. ,

Characterization of New Childhood HIV Infections in USAID supported regions in Uganda (NCHiS)

The assessment aims to characterize those children newly diagnosed with HIV in terms of their demographics, geography, access to care, care continuum and social determinants, to inform child HIV services on targeted and effective case finding and treatment services that can support the reversal of sub-optimal case finding and viral load suppression, and the stagnation in the overall rate of new vertical infections.
a. Primary objective
To describe the determinants or associated risk factors of persisting vertical HIV infections among children.
b. Secondary objectives
i. To report on the perspectives of key stakeholders on the utilization of child HIV services from implementor to the recipient.
ii. To describe the distribution of HIV seropositive children by HIV acquisition mode e.g., vertical MTCT (PMTCT and non-PMTCT), BF, through sex, trauma/GBV.
iii. To establish the proportion of uniquely identified HIV seropositive children in the survey region.
